Football Seat Rights Program – FAQs
Do I have to pay for seat rights up front, or can I pay over a number of years?
There are three payment options to choose from:
- Option #1 - Retain your seat(s) for 25 years if you pay upfront by June 30, 2008.
- Option #2 - Retain your seat(s) for 20 years if you pay over a 5-year period.
- Option #3 - Retain your seat(s) for 15 years if you pay over a 10-year period.
The Deacon Club will bill you every year in equal installments depending on the payment plan selected, and the payment deadline each year is June 30.
Do I have the ability to keep my current seat?
Yes. By participating in the FSRP, you will have the opportunity to secure seat rights to your current location. If your current seat location is in the area planned for chairback seating, your seat location may be adjusted due to the loss of total seats per row. If you do not choose to participate in the FSRP, your seats will be assigned based on your Deacon Club rank as of December 31, 2007, and then by the date on which your ticket order is received.
What happens if I die before my seat rights term expires?
Seat rights may be transferred upon the death of the donor and by gift during the life of the donor to immediate family only, provided the recipient continues to purchase season tickets, maintains the Deacon Club membership, and pays any balance due on the seat right.
If I am currently buying tickets for myself and a friend who is not a Deacon Club member, does my friend have the right of first refusal to his/her seats?
Patrons who currently get their season tickets from a source other than Wake Forest can secure the location of their current seats by joining the Deacon Club and participating in the FSRP. The FSRP provides an outstanding opportunity for a non-donor to establish his/her own Deacon Club membership. Both parties should note their current season ticket arrangement on their seat rights commitment form.
Can I secure the location of my own seats, but also have the opportunity to upgrade them if my rank permits?
Yes. Check the first box on the commitment form that says you would like to keep your current seats and also check the box that indicates you would like the Deacon Club to contact you during the selection process to explore a change in location.
If I purchase seat rights in one section, will I be able to move to a better section in a few years?
Yes. If you would like to upgrade your seat location in the future, we will allow you to select from open inventory at that time. You will be required to pay the difference between the cost of the seat in the new section and any donation you have made for a previous FSRP commitment (less the value of usage).
What should I expect in terms of season ticket prices?
Season ticket prices are subject to change on an annual basis and have not yet been determined for the 2008 season. FSRP participants will be informed of price changes before the seat selection process and should expect chairback seating to have a higher season ticket price than stadium seating.
How do I obtain seat rights?
Send in a commitment form to the Deacon Club office by January 31, 2008. A $50 per-seat deposit is required at the time of commitment, and this amount will be deducted from your first payment, which is due by June 30, 2008.
Do I have to be a Deacon Club member at a certain giving level to obtain seat rights?
All FSRP participants must be Deacon Club members, and giving level determines the number of seat rights you are able to purchase.

How will I select my seat right location?
After current season ticket holders have had the opportunity to exercise their right of first refusal to their 2007 seats, the Deacon Club will contact all other participants in order of rank as of December 31, 2007, to select seats from the remaining inventory.
When will I be contacted to select my seat location?
The selection process will begin after chairback seating is installed (approx. February 2008). The Deacon Club will contact participants in order of rank as of December 31, 2007.
Can my friend and I get seat rights together?
If you and your friend already have season tickets next to one another, you can both exercise the right of first refusal to your current seats. If you would like to change your seat location but remain sitting together, please note this on your commitment form. The Deacon Club will average your rank to determine your priority position in the selection process.
Will I receive priority points for my FSRP donation?
Yes. You will earn 1 priority point for every $100 donation.
Are seats on Deacon Hill a part of the FSRP?
No. Season tickets on Deacon Hill will be assigned based on Deacon Club rank and then by the date ticket orders are received.
Will I have the ability to improve my current seat location by participating in the FSRP?
Yes. After eligible 2007 season ticket holders have had the opportunity to exercise their right of first refusal to their current seats, the Deacon Club will contact new members and 2007 season ticket holders who wish to change seat location or add seats. Seat selections will be made by these participants in order of Deacon Club rank as of December 31, 2007, and will be given a designated window of time to select the location of their seats from the remaining seat inventory.
Can I purchase seat rights in the Young Alumni section?
Those currently sitting in the Young Alumni section will have the opportunity to secure the location of their seats with the FSRP; however, these participants will only be eligible for the Young Alumni season ticket price discount the first five years after graduating. The participant will have to pay the full season ticket price for the remainder of his/her seat rights duration.
What happens if I buy seat rights, then decide to reduce my number of seats a few years into the term?
If you decide to relinquish your seat rights during a term, you will no longer be required to purchase season tickets and your seat right location will return to unsold seat inventory. You will be given a credit balance for any donation you have made minus the percent usage incurred to be redeemed if you participate in any subsequent seat rights programs.
Will my seat location be affected by the re-numbering of the stadium?
BB&T Field will be re-numbered prior to the 2008 season. Stadium seat locations will remain the same but have a new section and number.
Can I sell or transfer my seat rights?
Seat rights may not be sold or transferred, except as permitted by the FSRP. The Program permits the transfers by gift to immediate family members upon the death of the donor and by gift during the life of the donor.
Is the seat rights donation tax-deductible?
Based on IRS guidelines, Wake Forest intends to estimate the value of the non-deductible portion of the contribution as 20% of the donation for the FSRP. As always, please consult your tax advisor.
What if I choose not to participate in the seat rights program this year?
Those who do not participate in the seat rights program will have a change in seat location. After seats have been selected by FSRP participants, all other season tickets will be allocated based on Deacon Club rank and then by the date ticket orders are received.
What if I choose to participate in the FSRP next year or several years from now?
Prices, payment terms, and seat right durations are subject to change in subsequent years. We anticipate the first year of this program to have the lowest per-seat price and most generous payment terms.
What if I don’t have a preference where my seats are located?
Deacon Club members who elect NOT to participate in the FSRP will have their seat re-assigned each year. Re-assignment will be based on Deacon Club rank and any requests that a member may have noted on his/her application.
