About the Project – Benefits

We’ve already experienced firsthand some of the benefits from our dedication to the football program. The 2006 ACC Championship season gave us a taste of the success to come, but we still have work to do in order to achieve our goal of becoming a first-class football program. We envision a future where every Wake Forest home football game will be played in front of a sold-out crowd of passionate Deacon fans. Such a program will not only increase the entertainment value for our fans and community; it will also contribute positively to the image and appeal of the University.

Benefits of a Successful Football Program
Success on the football field will translate into many benefits for the football program, the athletic department, the University, and the community at large, most of which will be a direct result of increased attendance and increased media exposure.

Increased media exposure surrounding a successful football program will help to:

  • promote the University and increase the number of qualified applicants
  • promote the local community
  • aid in the recruiting process for all sports by providing evidence that Wake Forest is committed to winning championships

Increased attendance at games will help to:

  • positively impact the local economy
  • increase alumni involvement
  • create a more electric atmosphere for enhanced fan entertainment
  • build a more intimidating home field advantage for our team
